Although it is a condition that affects overweight people, cellulite is also seen in thin people.

What Causes Cellulite?

Although the exact cause of cellulite formation is not known by experts, some of the reasons that affect cellulite formation are as follows;

  • Hormonal causes and genetic factors.
  • Unhealthy eating.
  • Smoking and using alcohol.
  • Toxic accumulated in the body.
  • Consuming too much caffeine.
  • Stress and irregular sleep.
  • A diet rich in carbohydrates.
  • Age progression
  • Weight gain or weight loss.
  • Still life.
  • Excessive use of salt.
  • Tight clothes and too much sitting.

Grades of Cellulite

Cellulite, which is usually seen in the legs and buttocks, can also be seen in the abdomen and arms. Cellulite is more concentrated in a certain area. There are 3 different degrees of cellulite;

1st degree cellulite: Since it has a very smooth appearance when viewed from the outside, it is only seen when the skin is compressed. It is the mildest degree of cellulite.

2nd degree cellulite: It is not visible while lying down, but appears when standing. It is often seen in the legs and hips.

3rd degree cellulite: It can be easily seen both in the supine position and in the standing position. This degree of cellulite has very deep pits.

What Should We Do to Prevent Cellulite Formation?

The most important thing to do to prevent the formation of cellulite is to stay away from a sedentary life and do regular sports. Paying attention to a healthy diet and sleep pattern also prevents the formation of cellulite. Do not use cigarettes and alcohol. Use special creams that preserve the elasticity of the skin. Get a massage. Avoid sitting for long periods of time. Reach your ideal weight.
